BT Wealth Management Selected for Accounting Today’s Top Firms by Assets Under Management

BT Wealth Management, an Atlanta-based investment, consulting and financial planning firm for high net worth individuals and families, has been named one of the 2020 Top Firms by Assets Under Management (AUM) by Accounting Today.

Now in its 14th year of being published, the Top Firms by AUM list identifies leading CPA financial advisors and ranks them by AUM. At the time of the survey, BT Wealth Management reported $1 billion in AUM as of December 31, 2019, placing the firm on the prestigious Billion Dollar Club list and making it the 32nd largest firm by AUM overall.

In 2019, BT Wealth Management’s AUM experienced a 27 percent growth year-over-year. To accommodate this growth, the firm proudly built out a new, larger office space. BT Wealth Management’s team of nearly 20 associates hold various professional designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA).

Over 200 applications were received and recipients of the award were categorized in the following categories: The Billion Dollar Club, The $500 Million-Plus Club, and The $100 Million-Plus Club. Data for the award was provided by Audit Analytics. The award is not representative of any one client’s experience because the rating reflect an average of all, or a sample of all, of the experiences of the adviser’s clients. Certified Financial PlannersTM (CFP®) are licensed by the CFP® Board to use the CFP® mark. CFP® certification requirements include: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, completion of the financial planning education requirements set by the CFP® Board (www.cfp.net), successful completion of the CFP® Certification Exam, comprised of two three-hour sessions, experience requirement: 6,000 hours of professional experience related to the financial planning process, or 4,000 hours of Apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements, successfully pass the Candidate Fitness Standards and background check, agree annually to be bound by CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, and complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years, including two hours on the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.

Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) are licensed by the CFA® Institute to use the CFA® mark. CFA® certification requirements: Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or have equivalent education or work experience, successful completion of all three exam levels of the CFA® Program, have 48 months of acceptable professional work experience in the investment decision-making process, fulfill society requirements, which vary by society. Unless you are upgrading from affiliate membership, all societies require two sponsor statements as part of each application; these are submitted online by your sponsors.

The Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation awarded by the Investments and Wealth Institute demonstrates certification in portfolio construction, focusing on asset allocation, due diligence, risk measurement, investment policy, and performance measurement. Candidates for the program must complete an executive education program through an approved education provider, and successfully complete the certification exam. CIMA designees are required to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years.
